INTERCULTURAL SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

The specific objective behind this activity is to encourage meetings of artists, experts, and the general audience to discuss about the position of contemporary applied art and creations. It will show the artistic richness of the specific traditional sources and the inspiration they generate today in the field of modern applied arts and design. These reciprocal exchanges of experience will produce a real multilateral interaction and promote the transnational mobilization and cooperation of cultural workers and encourages the intercultural dialogue.  The audience of these seminars will be composed of artists, university teachers, cultural experts, students, high school pupils (options in applied arts or design) and general public. We want to generate professional discussion in the field of applied arts, but in such way that is not just for the experts but for the public can be interesting and understandable as well. They can attend professional discourses about the topics “tradition in the modern applied arts/design” held by cultural experts, professors and qualified artists (foreigner and local too).

Some topics of the seminars:
- What do “history”, “roots”, and the “past” means to contemporary applied art and design?
- What is the relationship between the local culture and the history of modern applied-art in European sense?
- How can the contemporary eco- and sustainable design use the work methods of traditional folk-arts?
- What are the breakout points and possibilities of European design on the international scene in case we want to rediscover our roots?
